lyrics

Onesie and the Tutus were the best band around. I saw them play once in the industrial section of town. There were not three of them like the name would imply. It was just some sort of cute girl, some instruments and some guy. They played pop music, often out of key. They wrote song about their friends and they covered The Softies.

He did the dishes while she read aloud. They got drunk on Mickey's in the basement of her house. She played the Casio, and he played my guitar. When they got hungry they'd go get food from out of the carts.

I heard later they broke up. I heard he sold the drum kit. I heard he sold it on Craigslist. I heard he no longer plays any music.

For one hot minute, they were my favorite band. I kept their CDR next to Belle and Sebastian. I had that show's flyer taped up on my fridge, until I came home drunk one night and it accidentally ripped.

And often when it's late and I am walking home I hum their songs to myself and this is how they go.
